@jay_peper I'd just reframe myself to say that removing state granted monopolies (patents absentee ownership) is restircting those powers. One goal (not the only one) is to remove the barriers made by capitalism by building alternative economic structures that aren't dependent on giant corporations, In example developing free and open source software so the economy is powered by FOSS instead of Google Docs, MSOffice, Adobe CC.

@BeaverGEGLChamp I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, but I might be missing the point somewhat. As in: There is no state monopoly restricting us from doing just that. (As a professional software developer, I can tell you: A good chunk of the economy *is* powered by FOSS)
