yes but it enables you to snag him with a friendly "Geert! did you go to {X} school, i did too" to catch his attention, bring him close for casual conversation... then punch him in the face

@benroyce It's a bit confusing. Geert went to MAVO and HAVO. When I went to that school it no longer offered MAVO, only HAVO, Atheneum and Gymnasium (the four-letter ones prepare for vocational training while the longer named ones prepare for university, with the Gym one, the one I attended, including classical Greek and Latin). He's only 3 years older than me so that change must have come about just before I joined and we must have definitely been enrolled at the same time.
