I drank raw milk for most of my youth, we got it directly from my uncle's milk tank. We didn't know any better.
Raw milk is not safe. That's why we began pasteurizing it to begin with. It lasts longer before souring and is safer for everyone involved. Yes, most people never have a problem. But some die.
I love the people who think drinking raw cow's milk is somehow more 'natural'. I don't think nature intended us to drink squeezing from herd animals.

@gedvondur @ai6yr As @sarahtaber detailed in that piece, convincing people to pay a premium for milk laced with e. coli has been a long-running and quite deliberate con. By operators who apparently do not care how many people they hurt.
