I personally find "computer science is actually a humanities study" takes pretty trite because the reality is that almost everything is a humanities study, by the definition being applied. Every field of study benefits enormously from the ability to relate to, work with, empathise with, understand the needs of, assess the impacts of new developments on, and be patient with, other humans. Every single one. Even engineering. Even physics. Even pure maths. Every single "malanthropic genius" these fields have seen would have been more impactful still if they had better humane skills. There is no field of study that is above its humanity. The problem lies in the inherent lie that is told as to how STEM is superior to humanities, coupled with how computer science *can* be more accessible to those who do not have the brain type for the STEM fields in general, but also has loads of room for people of the abstract mathematics or hard engineering disciplines. The problems we have are from people treating themselves not as exciting pioneers in a diverse field with a lot of humanity, but rather as temporarily embarrassed science majors, and demanding the respect they've been told science should have over the humanities. Just saying "actually computer science is a humanities study" misses the point. All studies are humanities studies, and computer science contains multitudes.
