I also use Jerboa and I have never tried anything else. Its great imo but lacking in the more interesting features I have seen from other clients. User tagging is super cool imo

After much complaining about sync’s descent into mediocre abandonware, i finally switched to Summit - i still miss sync’s ui/ux - but its nice being able to use a non buggy product

Frankly I just use the website installed as a web app. I’m quite happy with it. I lost a bit on the ux of thread closing but I get access to the emoji picker from my instance which is invaluable.

I really like Raccoon, Summit, and Connect a lot. I switch around between them just for shits and giggles; they’re all great apps with cool, active developers. I’m currently writing this with Raccoon.

Most of the time, sync, because I prefer my scrolling and reading on a tablet, and having dual columns that are easy to parse is more important than most other factors. Boost is my backup for the same reason, since so far all the otherwise great lemmy first apps don’t do dual column well, when they do it at all. That being said, check out connect, summit, and thunder. All damn fine apps overall

Sync still works great and is tighter than basically everything else. The other apps have made MONSTROUS strides in the past couple years, but I still have sync set up pretty close to how I want it. But, what I really truly want is Baconreader for fediverse.

I like Boost. Last time I said this, I got shunned for recommending a closed-source app. It’s got a good UI, works well, and bugs are fixed quickly.

Voyager for me. The compact mode is fairly compact, with small enough thumbnails that it can feel text-first. The few others that support piefed have had huge images with no easy way to fix that.

Voyager as PWA through Chrome. Unfortunately. There’s just no other way I’ve found to easily copy anything I see on screen, be it any link or photo, to share it with others. It’s my issue with so many platforms… This way I can just long press anything and share.

I haven’t found anything better than Jerboa. To me, the only flaw is that it will never, ever support piefed. It’s the closest to the RIF experience.

I t4ied only Interstellar and settled on Summit. Back when piefed social was new I got on board fairly early and interstellar IIRC was one of the first to have piefed support. Then summit came with the support and I never left since. Sorry Interstellar, Summit just have the UX I prefer back when I used Sync for reddit. Sync for lemmy didn’t have piefed support back then.

As a primarily iPhone user, I get a thrill using Voyager on my Android phone. It’s basically an Apollo clone, and Apollo was iOS only (for Reddit). IIRC Voyager is based on its released source code. The Apollo dev was never gonna code for Android, but he didn’t stop others from doing so, and they did. I also like the client. On iOS, I use it for my Piefed account because of its support for that branch (fork?) of Lemmy. On iOS for this account, I use Mlem, which I believe is iOS only. I’m happy with Voyager on Android, but I’m certainly open to alternatives. I want to keep one app that can switch between the two, so it needs Lemmy and Piefed support. I also like the comfortable interface with previews, the ability to blur/hide NSFW on a toggle (like if I’m out in public vs at home), and swipe controls (upvote, downvote, reply, and save). Easy access to blocking is also important (e.g. on this account I browse /all).

As we are talking about browsers… I use Boost, but would like the option of downloading ‘all, -top six hours’ including comments, for offline browsing (Perhaps up to a maximum size). Any recommendations please?

I’m using boost now but I miss the swipe to upvote feature I used to have on sync. Any recommendations? That swipe feature was great and made it so easy to throw a vote out there.

I’m using Voyager because Star Trek. Works very well except for one problem, it doesn’t remember the last thread or community I was on I switch apps and android kills in background. It’s particularly annoying when I follow a link and when I come back to comment on it Voyager is back on Home and the thread lost forever. Or when I’m in the middle to writing a comment but want to quickly fact check something but when I come back I get a message saying that my comment was saved, nice. But still can’t go back to the thread I was to finish it.

I used to use Boost for Reddit back then and switched over to Boost for Lemmy initially. Nowadays I use Voyager as I like the UI better.
