My favorite film is Strange Days. When I was about 11 or 12 years old I saw the trailer on TV. The imagery and music in the trailer hooked me. I was too young to watch an R-rated film at that time, but about a year later I watched it on the cable box at home. I loved the film. The opening scene set the grittiness of the rest of the film. It was also the first time I watched scenes from a film shot in first person, and they did all that before small cameras like GoPros existed. The soundtrack is terrific. I think I bought the CD at Tower Records, I still have that in storage somewhere. Since the DVD release back in the early 2000s I’ve made it a thing to watch the film every December.
