The 90s JVC tape players had a faux rubber, grippy surface. Over time, that plastic got icky-sticky. When people tried to clean that surface, like with alcohol, it took the finish right off, along with any labeling. So I've been adding it back - white out lettering, sharpened with sharpie, and sealed with clear nail polish. There are many cassette players (still), and this is mine. Now to fix the scratchy volume pot. #music #physicalmedia
