A strange rabbit-hole brought me to the stereotyped world of cold-war-era comics. "Nature Boy" at first seemed a bit different, with its vaguely Taoist references and ancient Greek gods, but in the end it is about harnessing the 'powers of nature' to defeat 'invaders that intend to destroy our civilization' or even protect US oil prospectors in an unspecified Arabic country. Another proud member of the class of phenomena that are their own caricature. #ColdWar #Comics #SystemsThatMatter
