The fruit store has the decryption key to your data. It's just security theater. Stop storing sensitive data on the cloud if you dont encrypt it yourself.
Unfortunately, they have excellent marketing and even techies fall for their lies.

Interesting to note that the article doesn’t mention if [Advanced Data Protection](https://support.apple.com/en-us/108756) was enabled or not. Of course we have no way of checking if what they say is true or not since nothing’s open source, but I’d have more faith in their system with end to end encryption
