Perhaps the most offensive thing to me of all, is that these LLM-loving AI-boosting idiots who perpetuate falsehoods like &#39;AI can read minds with fMRI&#39; and &#39;AI can magically find vulnerabilities&#39; and &#39;AI will cure cancer&#39; is that we have known this is bullshit for years. Years. IBM Watson was launched as a magical cure-all in 2013. By 2022 it had been pulled from everything because despite years of &#39;refining&#39; and &#39;training,&#39; following it would have killed over 50% of patients. At it&#39;s best.

"Yes but my artisanal model is trained on..." Bitch, IBM Watson was trained on the most specific and largest bodies of work possible, including confidential health records. And it would recommend sulfa drugs to people who had severe allergies to sulfa. It had more power than your entire rack of silicon that is bad at math - over 16TB of RAM and 2880+ cores. And it's the exact fucking same 'AI' concept. Tokenize, analyze, find statistically related phrase. Same. Exact. Thing.

@rootwyrm I remember Watson from back then but it kinda vanished from the public eye and i forgot about it, didn't knew that was what was going on, good to know, and yeah, precedent is irrelevant to idiots and to people who want to take money from you
