I was told: "Take good notes. I need to know the important stuff." I drew 2 cartoons per session. I handed that in the AM when I got back. 10:55 I got called into her office along with the guy who went with me (he took no notes, relying on my furious motion of pens). "What the hell is this?" "You said good notes, those are excellent, they look just like those people." "WTF. What am I supposed to do with this? Look at this." Holding up an image of two guys, one brutishly huge, the other comically geek CEO stereotype and 2/3 the size of the other. "Oh that was the two yanks who were trying to sell everyone on the proprietary protocols they were offering." I then mimicked them and 3 minutes of the sales pitch. My coworker had tears coming down his eyes. My boss glaring at him; "This is funny?" "That's exactly how they sounded and acted. OMG." Laughing even more as I posed like the ape who just glared at us in silence. "So I'm supposed to just, what, have you perform everyone of these?" "if you want. I use them as mnemonic triggers. I did memorise ever session for you." "FFS. Next time I need to be more specific." "Certainly. If you want me to be something I am not." I really did like that job a lot. She had me sit in on our monthly ALL IT meetings from then on, always finding an excuse to not be there. The cartoons lined her white board.
