@feff I've been using Linux as my desktop for the best part of 30 years, mixed in with Solaris for a while. It really is never an issue for me but all I do is program, write reports and papers, listen to music and watch videos.
Currently, I'm stuck using windows as my work desktop, though we do most of our work using wsl on a virtual azure windows box. That way we can install software that we need without having to raise a ticket with central IT services and waiting a week.

@ianturton Yeah, for the most common use cases Linux has pretty good, if not better, options for decades. At work I'm stuck with Windows too but there's nothing, except maybe my accessibility software, that would be missed if we could move to Linux (except Teams...?). Although getting everyone else used to the Linux ecosystem would be the hardest part (and I think it would mostly be to getting used to the UI of LibreOffice)
