@penworks I think because federation makes it somewhat difficult to see exactly how far a mastodon post has travelled, it would be harder to make an Altmetric-style measurement of engagement on Fedi.
I see this as a good thing; I don’t like metrics…

@davidjamesweir yes it can sometimes be difficult to see all Masto interactions, but the Altmetric system is designed to not see any. Of course youre right about the meaninglessness of these kinds of metrics, yet they are there and should not be so obviously biased.
