@penworks we need to burn altmetrics to the ground, along with impact factors. "Scientific value" is a harmful construct.

@odr_k4tana Its a slightly different argument but yes, Altmetrics are completely irrelevant as quality markers of academic research. They are just more versions of KPI to justify budgets and policy, and just like learning analytics, have no direct use beyond that.
