But it can make us feel a bit down to want more mementos than we have.
Could you look for some? Maybe old newspaper clippings or photos of the place you grew up in? It might jog personal memories.

@Giselle I found a newspaper article about my grandparents founding their greenhouse business. That was cool. But I grew up in a small town, and as far as I can tell, the local newspaper isn't archived digitally. I can see many regional newspapers up through 1923 for free, but according to the Library of Congress, The Russell Daily News only available in microfiche and original copies. And it makes me sad, because I used to deliver that paper as a kid.
