@raven
That's a shame.
I found that I don't remember all that much from childhood or youth. I chucked a diary from some teenage years because it was all about living in my head and shaping myself into bretzels over it. It was so off-putting to skim that I chucked it. I'm happier with my approach to life now.
I have a few mementos from when I was younger, I think I'm okay with those. My siblings occasionally refresh my memory, they usually know stuff that I don't recall. Weird thing, memory.

@Giselle I find I remember way less than I'd like to... and as my family shrinks, I have fewer and fewer people to remind me of things. Parents gone, two of my three brothers gone, and I probably won't talk to my remaining brother much. I'm two uncles away from being the oldest person in my family on both mom and dad's sides. My memories are just fragments, and I need triggers to call them up. Photos are great, but I have so few from then. I need to scan my mom's photos, but it's hundreds.
