@coffeemug oh, yeah. If I’m over an area that has cell coverage (so, near an interstate, over a city, etc.) and lower than ~5000 ft above the ground, I can get pretty decent cell internet. If I’m above that altitude, then the signal is too weak and I’m better off using the satellite messaging for sending messages.
I’m sure that if I were in a fiberglass aircraft (my plane is all aluminum), that altitude limit would be higher.

@younata shame you can just get one of those aviation rated external LTE antennae and plug it into your phone without having to get the rest of the infrastructure of a "booster" - though an LTE router and just have wifi instead of full mobile signal ... @coffeemug
