Now that I have to do power of attorney/guardianship stuff for my mother, something I like to do is test how much of it people will just… let me do… with absolutely no ID or documentation, just because I asked politely.
It’s pretty much everything, and that’s alarming.

As someone with a solid grounding in disability politics and the workings of systemic ableism and eugenics this doesn’t surprise me in the slightest — it is very easy to dissolve someone’s perceived personhood — but I think a lot of y’all are out there thinking this leopard won’t eat your face.
