It depends where you are, I think sadly we can’t do it all from home, rice, and other exotic foods can’t be grown where I am based, but I have a commercial polytunnel and when we get on the case, in the Dordogne we can indeed produce enough vegetables and of course then cook and store in jars to get through the winter! Without lots of animals we can’t do dairy etc, but I had a beehive and one hive on a good season can produce a lot of honey, two would likely be enough for a year if you didn’t go crazy. Chickens are wonderful and keep laying eggs. We could survive without the shops here in the Dordogne if we just relied on local farms. But the modern world and supermarkets are a fortunate thing to have ✌️
