After adding some text to a long #LaTeX project, I started getting mysterious "Counter too large" errors.
Eventually I worked out that the problem was that I was using alph (alphabetical) numbering (eg, page a, b, c ... z) for my appendices and bibliography.
When I ticked over to a 27th page, latex freaked out and emitted this (now slightly less) cryptic error.
Luckily the most LaTeX possible solution exists: someone has created the AlphAlph package to solve this exact problem...

Woo, loving the semantic collision of #LaTeX and #latex on the fediverse; in retrospect this is not surprising!

@heavyimage@mastodon.social @brainwane@social.coop This implies the existence of the AlphAlphAlph package for output files with 677 pages or more.
