@pathunstrom A paragraph or sentence has all sorts of possibilities — metaphor, imagery, description of moment, character revelation — but the point of those words being selected and placed in that order is to provide a specific result in the mind of the reader. Eliminate the parenthetical clause in the sentence above, then replace ‘mind of the reader’ with ‘the computer’s CPU,’ and tell me how the two statements are not identical in their veracity. Writing is writing is writing.

    @IanAMartin All of this, and it doesn't even include the part of code where most source code must also communicate to your team members in precisely the same way as prose.
