I host my mastodon at home and it survived being #1 on hacker news last night

my nbn almost melted as you can see in this traffic graph from my home router fortunately I already had nginx on a AU$3.50 vps sitting in front of everything, so I put some quick proxy_cache config in there to handle the static content. a total of 8.7 million requests so far, 1.4 million through to my home. I don't think anything fell over!
