I feel like my life is meaningfully worse for using microblogging based social media services, and the only reason i haven't punted both this account and my bluesky is because it feels like for promoting and finding out about thing. i could write a whole rant about my problems with them.

it's not an exaggeration to say that every platform I've used (Twitter in the past, Bluesky, Mastodon) has a genuinely sub-par at best culture around them. Everything feels like it's just for outrage farming, and even places like fedi where the non-profit nature of the thing would suggest that that would be shed still feels like it has the same fundamental problems, just on a less capitalistic and more inter-personal level. It just feels like everyone is always angry at each other and looking for the next big thing to blow up, and man it's fucking exhausting. I should spend more time working on my blog and software projects than venting but it is what it is.
