For #WildflowerWednesday here is an evening primrose; Oenothera elata (Hooker’s Evening Primrose). This photo was from 2 years ago; I have at least a dozen new ones that should flower this summer. These flowers grow as a flat rosette of leaves for ~1 year and then send up a tall stalk (1-2 m) that has flowers growing from the stem. As the name suggests, they primarily bloom at night and wither in the morning. #California #NativeFlowers #Flowers #Primrose
