there are a few cautions to note
in most jurisdictions, for most purposes, it's not legal to encrypt traffic on the public airwaves. that is because they are a finite public resource and corporations would abuse it. that applies regardless of what layer the encryption happens at; check carefully, don't just assume the software wouldn't make it easy to do the wrong thing.

@adamgreenfield if you are broadcasting radio traffic, regardless of what it is, any sufficiently interested party can figure out the exact location of the transmitter, which is likely to be highly identifying. this is true no matter what precautions you apply at the higher layers, due to the nature of radio.

@ireneista @adamgreenfield That is good advice. Does it also apply more specifically to the 915MHz ISM band in the US, which is what this seems to be talking about (i.e. Meshtastic and Reticulum over LoRa)? Because everybody here uses Meshtastic and it's all encrypted by default.
