> "AI assistance reduces persistence and hurts independent performance" which kind of tells you everything you need to know.
Yet another 'calculators make you bad at math' result. You're not worse with it... you're worse without it.
> “We find that AI assistance improves immediate performance, but it comes at a heavy cognitive cost,” the study declares. Researchers went on to state that just ten minutes of using AI made people dependent on the technology, which led to worsening performance and burnout once the tools were removed.
That's not a cost! That's the tool doing things for you. The sudden cognitive burden is *not having it.*
'This tool instantly makes you better, to where losing it feels frustrating within mere minutes.' That is the opposite of a condemnation.
Do you want persistent motivation for doing everything the hard way, or do you want to get shit done?
