If someone else were to say, "We shouldn't make contact with aliens from outer space, because they'd try to colonize and conquer us" I will just tell them that they can't ruin humanity anymore than humans already have.. heck even if the aliens were to wipe out humanity.. that would probably be humanity's greatest collective desire at this point. If humanity doesn't alter course sooner rather than later, then we might as well either kill our own species off ourselves sooner rather than later.. or just send messages out into space begging for some other species to kill us themselves
