That's the same one that's also used in the latest version of Snapshot/Decoder/Warp/etc. and compared to zbar has the advantages of being written in rust (really nice when dealing with untrusted input) and supporting utf8. When it comes to detection it's not fully on par yet, though, and struggles in various situations while working perfectly in others. Problem cases include Settings wifi QR codes and scanning from apps in dark-mode.
