@ben @keirFox @toroidalcore I kinda doubt it would be the hard shutdown, simply because the files being affected were _probably_ not active at the time - KeirFox mentioned that some files affected are pictures, those wouldnt have been under modificaiton at shutdown. Best bet is fsck and memtest in that order. If you are using an SSD, be aware those have pretty young EOL compared to magnetic disk drives. That is your probable culprit. Unluckily it means more sectors are probably going to pop in the near future. Sorry m8.
