@slowe one thing I get from it is that, if we could only get people to meet each other on the level, they might be so much better at resolving differences and often finding common ground. Representation has arguments for it, but I feel we loose a lot by that (if it happens) mediation. I feel like this might be why citizens assemblies can work well — perhaps people can actually empathise, feel, expand their views and change their ideas.
