@johnlogic its based in TX, I really wouldn't put it past these apps being used to collect data by the oil companies to work out just how much they can push up the prices. My experience of "free" motoring-related apps is they are only given away so companies can try and market you car-related services (my country has compulsory yearly inspection and insurance, so there's loads of companies fighting like rats to try and get this business)
