We made this tool during a very quiet day at work where there was nothing to do. Although it had no direct use by itself, it was a good learning exercise because we learned how to create SVG from scratch. The skills I got that day have been very useful ever since. I've just gone back to it and tidied up/simplified the code a little bringing the page size down to under 25kB (11.25kB transferred)!
