@electron_greg Oh dear, not a great performance. It’s probably not written the most efficient way for the Speccy though

@apa Well each platform could have optimisations catered for, but this "unified" (as much as possible) program does give each system a level playing field. Thank you for doing this. I'll add it to the benchmarks.

@apa Huh - was the Spectrum basic that much less efficient than the ZX81 basic? It's the same processor, clocked a little faster - I would've guess the two should come out about the same(?) @electron_greg

@apa @electron_greg Did a few runs with Adam's program on a Spectrum Next: At 3.5MHz: 48k BASIC 55s 128k BASIC 68s NextBASIC 35s At 28MHz: 48k BASIC 9s 128k BASIC 10s NextBASIC 6s
