I ran across it in a Stats text book before. Merriam-Webster doesn't say "chiefly British," but we don't use drams much anymore as a unit in the US, a half note is usually called a half note, and for "something very minute" I think most Americans would go with "minute," "tiny," or "very small."
M-W online has that "recent examples" feature and it only shows 2, both from 2017, and one is Latin. So not a word seen in the wild in the US.

@Z_Zed_Zed@universeodon.com I learned it at school in music lessons. I'll admit that I'm old, but I didn't think we'd changed the terminology.
