Getting into crackpot territory here, but I think the assassination might very well have had some connection to [MKULTRA](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MKUltra). The CIA destroyed all the files related to this, and so unless they missed some, we'll probably never know for certain.

By MKULTRA link, do you mean Dr. Jolyon West visiting the imprisoned Jack Ruby who shortly afterward was discovered to have been permanently rendered a gibbering lunatic talking about hearing and seeing Nanking Massacre-esque scenes all around him?
