Yes! They're expensive because they live underground with tree roots and are therefore hard to find. Also, there are pigs that search for truffle professionally. They can smell truffle that is buried almost a metre under the surface, which is wild to me.

There's also truffle dogs! They have the advantage of being less likely to eat the truffles.
