I've yet to see one article on American partisan gerrymandering this election cycle that points out Democratic gains are made thru statewide referenda (CA and VA) ... Vs Republican gains that are done by state legislators without public votes.     @TCatInReality But that's because the democrats have been idiotic enough to protect "their" states from political gerrymandering so they generally require referenda to change that again, while the GOP always considered political gerrymandering inside their core brand identity.
