@phillip I don't remember where I read that signal does that, but I do remember that it came from an authoritative source to mitigate that exact "google can see your notifications" problem. And I can't find any docs on it, but I did find a thread from someone "who's probably an authoritative source": https://mastodon.world/@Mer__edith/111563866152334347 And it's technically not misinformation, as AFAIK push notifications aren't by nature E2E encrypted, though they can be, it's just that signal in particular has mitigated that particular hole so it's not true for signal.
