@lesley The Pi is awesome! Look into self hosting other stuff, it's really fun. I prefer Pi hole over Adguard but you do you! The blocked log feels great and disgusting as you said.

@eclecticpassions Thanks! I have been hosting many services on a VPS, but this is the first time running anything on a device I own. I also didn't research AdGuard vs. pi hole (and just picked whichever). Maybe that's something I can revisit later
