The Egyptian and Tibetan books of the dead, reveal much about how people have understood what consciousness means in terms of transcendence. Evolution is a more modern idea. It though avoids the problem of tuning; as in its cause and recollection; as in the transference of knowledge considered by Socrates before his execution.
Suppose human consciousness has a quantity of diverse properties which is a manifestation of the unique essence and dimensions of its actual disposition. Self-consciousness can therefore emerge as one of a few or many stages in the cycles of transfinite beings. Machines, cannot ascend because consciousness is not a ready-made template, I.e. it is neither analogue nor digital: it does not depend on the abstract collection and reductionist division of those dimensions and properties. It is the absolute idea of a foundation that constitutes the manifold of any dialectic principle.
