This gave me another chilling thought. There is a significant overlap between people spreading disinformation about vaccines/modern medicine and trying to exert pressure on women to have more children due to "below-replacement" birth rates.
If we bring child mortality back up to 50% or whatever, even more children would have to be born to keep population levels up, meaning even more opportunity to scold people for not having enough of them.

@painting_squirrel @greene There's a statistician called Hans Rosling that has given a TED talk on how live expectancy and child mortality rates feed into family size - long story short, the more likely kids are to live the smaller families get. I always quite liked that fact because it meant that there was no conflict between helping people live longer, healther lives and addressing overpopulation. I certainly hope that MAGAts haven't looked at that same insight and drawn a much darker conclusion.
