It’s funny I listen to debates from parliamentarians on social media and then I listen to my 14 year old son. I can only conclude the 14 year old is wiser and more clued up about it than most MPs and peers. Rather than trying to ban teenagers and exclude them as in need of protection, I think older generations should listen and learn from them.

@JamesBaker@social.openrightsgroup.org I agree, as someone who grew up with social media there are some huge downsides but also really good upsides as well. These MPs really don't have a grasp on how they operate and function that they resort to full on bans.

@JamesBaker@social.openrightsgroup.org > as in need of protection That's not their objective, that's just their excuse to make people accept abusive control. There is no such thing as "Age verification", that's identity verification by for-profit corpos who leak data everyday. That's also a way to make people accept having their identity linked to everything they ever said online… That's a fascist wet dream Remembrer trump admin. is suing reddit to obtain a user's identity because that person criticized the ICE…
