Dear hell, Yesterday I attempted to make a bug report to a project hosted on #gitlab . While recovering my account, I discovered that #gitlab uses reCaptcha. When reaching the Gitlab DPO team about this issue, because Google is very well known to have a very intrusive captcha which has been judged as not GPDR compliant in the past, they at first denied it. When links and screenshots were provided, they informed me that starting April they switched from hCaptcha to reCaptcha, because Google has changed some wording into their reCaptcha FAQ. It means that with this fancy wording, Gitlab decided it was ok to disrespect their users and throw out by the window their user privacy. Can we now all agree to switch to a more user-friendly git host ? I&#39;m too tired of service providers which ignore legislations and don&#39;t want to respect their users. I don&#39;t want anymore any kind of interrection with this people.

Also if you host an opensource project on #Gitlab, I'm sorry but I can't make bug reports there anymore. I'm too tired to read legal documents and privacy policies to understand in which way I'm gazlighted by this kind of service provider and the people operating them. I'll just do something else, or participate to projects hosted somewhere else.

@ck0@tech.lgbt Back when I started studying I did like Gitlab a lot but as soon as I found out about forgejo I switched to codeberg.org. The only other alternative I know is Sourcehut and sr.ht, or to self-host any repos.

@ck0 I just had to login to Gitlab\.com and the normal GitLab\.com login page gave me cloudflare CAPTCHA.
