I didn't even know of the existence of those! Thanks for the new knowledge, I guess they never really took off much?

They were moderately popular around the turn of the century. They held 100-250MB but were pretty fragile. There were others called Jaz disks that held 1GB. But once you could burn a CD or use a thumb drive they weren’t worth the risk of data loss.
