Standard Android uses Google’s SUPL server to get "Assisted GPS" data. This request often includes your IMSI and phone number, allowing Google to link your IP address and physical location to your identity. Graphene Os uses supl.grapheneos.org. This proxy strips out all identifying metadata (IMSI, phone number) before fetching the satellite data. The server sees a request for GPS data, but has no idea who is asking. When SUPL is used.
