@als@alico.nexus I did some back of the napkin calculations.
in 2025, American consumers emitted 1.21 billion metric tons of CO₂ regarding gasoline-powered cars (no diesel). Also no trucks, no airplanes, and no farm tractors.
Private jets are definitely not good, but we should also work to eliminate or heavily limit personal car usage. End suburban sprawl. Invest more in public transport. Electrify cars and the grid. More solar power, and more batteries.
