@rygorous And there I was, running a 286 with 512 kB RAM with a TVGA card that also had 512 kB VRAM.

@rygorous This is another plane of reality from where most of us were living. I didn't even own a hard drive in 1992 nor a 1MB of RAM.

@rygorous I was a grad student in a lab that had one of these in the mid 90’s. We used it to do stuff like visualize 1024x1024x1024 cubes of data from sola convection simulations .. it could render this real-time as a voxel cube. After hours, yes when glquake came out, you bet we tested it.
