@rygorous for me it's kind of a fine line when something becomes part of the. landscape instead of trash. like, jars and cans from a 1950s mining camp, not good, but a cowboy signature from 1888 that's fucking cool

  • @regehr honestly especially graffiti gets an undeservedly bad rap. Thanks to Pompeii we have like 11k samples of Roman graffiti and that, although usually crude (heh, people don't change much), gives you a very different perspective on what life in Roman times used to be like than what historians of the time bothered to write about
