My experience is that fitting UNC 1/4-20 hardware to 1/4-20 camera mounts results in seizing or binding. I thought I knew why. Now I am confused again!

@publius @stib Fascinating. I agree camera threads *should* be 1/4 Whitworth; it seems your equipment is compliant and the equipment I've tested isn't.
