An interesting one, to add to my global water ( Water Aid charity) research. That there are places and people who can't bathe ( and in the UK my mum ended up as one of those of people washing herself down with a sponge... But she couldn't have walked to a bath house either. Luckily the care home has a special room for showering disabled old people)

The concept of a bath house as a social gathering place is interesting, and I guess it has been that globally. We know our local indoor swimming baths were used for washing, not just swimming, about 130 years ago. #uk #water
